Growing in Christ at the Advent
Sunday Nursery Care
Nursery care is offered for infants during the 9 am service (and for infants and toddlers during the 11:15 am service), and for toddlers during the 9 am service. To ensure the child’s safety and your piece of mind, all parents are given a pager when dropping off their child, and will be paged if needed.
Beulah Land - ages 0-3
Church School - ages 3 and up
Church School happens every week after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Following Communion, our Church School teachers meet all children ages 4 & up at the rear of the church and head up to the third floor. The Church of the Advent uses a Montessori-based curriculum called Godly Play. The goal of Godly Play is to teach children the art of using religious language – parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action – to help interpret the events of their daily lives. Godly Play teachers tell Bible stories using multi-sensory materials that encourage children to enter into the stories and relate them to their personal experiences.
More about Church SchoolOn Thursday and Friday mornings, infants from the neighborhood and the parish bring their mothers to the Advent for a play group in Moseley Hall - and in warm weather, in the Parish Garden, too. For more information contact .
Family Community Group
We have an active Family Group that meets on the first Friday of every month for dinner at 5:30 in Moseley Hall downstairs from the sanctuary. We gather for dinner at 5:30, and the kids eat first, then we provide childcare upstairs in the Sunday School rooms from 6:30-7:30 so the parents can spend a little bit of peaceful time together. All families are welcome, and if you have questions or would like to be on the email list for Family Group, contact .
