By the mercy of God,
Rest in Peace. Amen.
The Wednesday morning Bible study group is currently reading the Epistles to the Galatians and the Ephesians. That’s at 10 am in the Library.
First Communion Class – First Communions will be on the Feast of Pentecost, May 20, this year. The final class to prepare young people in the parish to make their First Communion will be Saturday, May 19 from 11:00 am to 11:30 am in the Church. At least one parent should plan to attend the class alongside the child.
For parents considering whether their child is ready for this step in faith development, here are some guidelines to keep in mind: Your child must wish on their own to begin receiving Communion. You must agree that this is appropriate, and you should feel that on some level your child understands the meaning of Holy Communion. We’re not talking Thomas Aquinas here; rather that your child, through emotion or intuition or what has been learned in the Church School, has a grasp of the meaning of the mystery of the Sacrament of the Altar. If you or your child have any questions, please speak to the any of the clergy, who will be very happy to explain. If you wish your child to be part of the classes, speak to Father Warren. To sign up for the class, RSVP to email@example.com.
Newcomers’ Brunch—Next Sunday, May 20, Father James and Betsy are hosting a Newcomers’ Brunch. All newcomers to the parish are invited to attend. We are glad to have you as a part of our parish family. 43 South Russell Street is a 10 minute walk up Pinckney Street, left on Anderson Street, right on Myrtle Street, and left on South Russell Street. 43 South Russell Street is half way down the street on the left. See you there!
